Malaya
Malaya means “free” in the Filipino language. The National Philosophy of Melayu Islam Beraja (Malay Islamic Monarchy) has actually been in existence as far back as 100 AD. The Brunei Malay Monarchy is believed to have been established in early 5th century. Islam spread to the Malay Archipelago in the 6th century and became official religion in the 14th century when the Brunei King, Sang Aji Awang Alak Betatar became the first Sultan known as Sultan Muhammad Shah. Zapin Musical GIG – Dewangga Sakti
Begitu juga muzik tradisional yang punyai pelbagai cabang spt inang,joget,zapin,keroncong, masri, asli, ghazal dan lain-lain lagi. Ghazal hanyalah salah satu drpd cabang tersebut. Untuk memahami seni muzik ini,kita perlu mendengar dan menonton. Barulah kita akan faham perbezaan di antara ghazal dgn zapin,inang,joget dll. Tidaklah nanti bila bertanya apa maksud lagu ghazal yang difahami menyebut lagu seperti Zapin Budi,Yaladan,Ya Salam yang berirama zapin!

Raja Menangis
The first reaction when I first stumbled upon this precious website, was ’sebak’ (touch). My heart was suddenly heavy. The title itself ‘menangis’ carries the profound meaning not only to the owner of the site, (which I pressumed at least a member of a Malay royalty) but also reflected the deep feelings of the Institution of Monarchy in Malaysia. Kings don’t cry, they never cry. Kings and tears do not belong to each others. Tears belong to the unfortunate, the poor, the oppressed, the victims. But why Malay Kings do cry (Raja Menangis)? An illusion Academy.
